Cali: Rocks at Point Lobos

Posted by

Photograph taken in Point Lobos State Reserve, Carmel, California

Sometimes a location can have such overwhelming beauty that I find it hard to capture it in a single wide frame. When moments such as these occur, I find it helpful to focus on the details. While walking along the water at Point Lobos State Reserve I began to feel lost. The compositions that I was finding were documenting our trip, but they didn't carry the emotion that I was looking for. I came across this beautiful stone and immediately switched to my macro lens and started focusing on the details. I am please with this shot, but more importantly I think this little break from landscape photography helped me to refocus my energy.
