Frozen lake at Sundown

Posted by
Yonatan (New York, United States) on 16 February 2009 in Landscape & Rural.

A week ago my girlfriend and I went hiking at the Rockefeller State Park Preserve. It was a beautiful day, about 45 degrees and sunny, but there was still plenty of snow to be found.

After hiking around for a few hours I wanted to get set up to take a few pictures of the sunset. This picture shows a snow covered Swan lake with some of the terrain behind it. I was hoping to catch the sun setting over the hills, but unfortunately this location did not provide me with that view. The lighting was not really working with me either and this photo was the best I could get with the conditions. Nonetheless, it was a great day and a wonderful dawn.

I will be posting a few more pictures from this park over the next few days.
